What Are Years? by Marianne Moore :: Poems, Poetry Analysis

Ive read this poem quite a few times. I still dont all in all understand it and I do like this poem. I conjecture whats great about this particular poem is the fact that it has non left my mind since the first time I read it. I have read it again and again. There is something about the first lines What is our innocence, what is our unrighteousness? All are naked, none are safe. Within those lines my attention was caught and I sound knew that this was going to be a very interesting poem.I also like the last line This is mortality, this is eternity. It has this lasting, lingering quality that makes what youve just read stay with you long after youve finished reading it. Something in the way Moore wrote this poem in truth got under my skin and made me unsay a deeper look at what this poem trully means.I think what Moore is really talking about is satisfaction with the life youre living. Thre is no prefection in life, but if you can be happy with who you are as a someone you will find joy.
